I am also having this same problem on four different sites but it just started happening this morning. All say code 5 but the task differs between 2 or 3. When visiting the back end of the sites if I click on the check extensions button it gives me a syntax error. The same thing happens on all three sites. Other joomla installs on the same server but in different accounts all seem to be fine. The sites are up and functioning but showing the errors in the back end.
